El text ha estat revisat filològicament i es presenta amb ortografia modernitzada. L’abundant anotació de caràcter històric, un dels aspectes més valorats d’aquella primera edició, és aquí completada i corregida a partir de la bibliografia posterior sobre el rei Pere i la seva obra.
L’apèndix de Maria Teresa Ferrer posa al dia el tema de l’autoria i l’interès històric de les Cròniques.

The publication of the volume V Apèndix i índex of the Les quatre grans cròniques [The four great chronicles] completes the project in order to keep the audience up to date with the work published in 1971 by Ferran Soldevila:

The text has been revised philologically and it is presented in modern Catalan orthography. The appendix written by the historian Maria Teresa Ferrer updates the authorship and the historical interest of the chronicles.
