SOIL COMPLEXES
A map unit composed of two or more, generally dissimilar, soil classes, with inclusions within a permissible proportion. The dissimilar soils included in a single delineation are overlap to such an extent that it is impossible to separate them, even with a more detailed map. They do, however, exhibit a spatial organization or distribution pattern which corresponds to a certain logic.
The area occupied by each of these soils is so small that it is impossible to delineate them separately at a scale of 1:24 000.
The grouped soils are sufficiently different in morphology or behaviour to be considered a consociation.
Two phases of two different Soil Series cannot be separated at a scale of 1:24 000.
